Engage synaesthesia. . .What does red taste like? Does the color blue, and all it’s incredible variations, smell like blueberries or the beach at dawn? When you see the color yellow, what does it sound like? Purple? Go all through the entire color spectrum and all your senses. . . Think about your favorite colors, the ones you surround yourself with. . .what do they feel like?
Now transfer whatever you discover to a character in one of your stories. . .How does this aspect of their experience engage them (or not) with other characters? How does it forward the plot?
